✒️ The flag of Tatarstan, a federal subject of Russia, was officially adopted on November 29, 1991. It is a horizontal tricolour consisting of green, white, and red stripes. The green stripe is at the top, the white stripe is in the middle (and is 1/15th of the flag's width), and the red stripe is at the bottom. According to official interpretations, the green symbolizes hope, freedom, and wealth, while the white band represents peace, concord, and an honest future. The red band signifies the fight for happiness, bravery, and courage. This design reflects the republic's sovereignty, its cultural identity, and the aspiration for harmony among its diverse population, which includes both ethnic Tatars and Russians.
