✒️ The Confederation of the Rhine (German: Rheinbund), a union of German states established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806, did not have a single, officially adopted flag representing the confederation as a whole. Instead, its constituent member states, such as Bavaria, Württemberg, and Baden, retained and continued to use their own individual flags and coats of arms. While some historical depictions and modern vexillological sources attribute a green, white, and blue horizontal tricolor to the Confederation, there is no definitive historical evidence to confirm its official use as a common flag. The Confederation effectively functioned as a French satellite state, with Napoleon serving as its "Protector," and as such, the French tricolor often served as the dominant symbolic presence for the overarching entity. The Confederation was dissolved in 1813 following Napoleon's defeat in the War of the Sixth Coalition.
