✒️ The flag of Ohio is distinctive for its unique swallowtail design, differing from the traditional rectangular shape of most U.S. state flags. It features five horizontal stripes alternating between red and white, with a blue triangular field at the hoist containing a large white circular "O" surrounding a red disc, symbolizing the state's nickname, "The Buckeye State," and its admission as the 17th state. Seventeen white stars are arranged around and within the "O," representing Ohio's place in the Union. Adopted in 1902, Ohio’s flag is known for its bold design and is one of the few U.S. state flags to break from the standard rectangular form.
