The Iron Front with Red Fimbriated Border is a modern variant of the historic Iron Front flag, distinguished by the addition of a prominent red fimbriated border surrounding a black field. At its center appears the traditional Iron Front emblem: three red arrows pointing diagonally downward within a red circle. This symbol originated in Germany in 1931 as the insignia of the Eiserne Front (Iron Front), a paramilitary organization formed by the Social Democratic Party to oppose fascism, monarchism, and communism during the final years of the Weimar Republic.
