✒️ While there is no single, universally recognized "Igbo people of Nigeria Flag" representing the entire ethnic group in the same way a national flag does, the flag of the former Republic of Biafra has become a prominent and often used symbol of Igbo identity and aspirations. This flag, adopted by the secessionist state during the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970), features a horizontal tricolor of red, black, and green, charged with a golden rising sun over a golden bar in the center. The eleven rays of the sun traditionally represent the eleven former provinces of Biafra. Though Biafra ceased to exist as a sovereign state, its flag continues to be widely displayed in predominantly Igbo areas of Nigeria and by the Igbo diaspora, symbolizing their shared heritage, cultural pride, and ongoing calls for self-determination.
