✒️ The Grand Duchy of Baden, a historical state in what is now southwestern Germany, used flags that prominently featured its heraldic colors of yellow and red. From 1855 to 1891, the primary flag was a simple red-yellow bicolour. In 1891, this was updated to a more intricate yellow-red-yellow triband, which remained in use until the end of the monarchy in 1918 and continued to be the flag of the subsequent Republic of Baden. These colors and designs, deeply rooted in the historical arms of the House of Zähringen (the ruling dynasty of Baden), symbolized the Grand Duchy's identity and its place within the German states. Despite the dissolution of Baden as a political entity after World War II, the yellow and red flag remains a powerful and widely recognized symbol of regional pride and heritage in the Baden area of modern-day Baden-Württemberg.
