✒️ This flag incorporates the "Green Cross of Florida" flag flown by Scottish adventurer Gregor MacGregor in 1817 on Amelia Island, when he proclaimed the two Floridas (East and West) to be a republic, independent from Spanish rule. It uses the orange design seen on Florida's license plate for visual distinction, situated on a light blue disk evoking the waters which surround the Peninsula.
