✒️ The Flag of the Republic of New Afrika is a tricolor banner consisting of three horizontal stripes in red, black, and green. This color scheme is derived from the Pan-African flag and symbolizes unity and liberation for people of African descent. The red represents the blood shed in the struggle for freedom, black symbolizes the people, and green stands for the fertile land of Africa and hope for the future. Originally adopted by the Republic of New Afrika (RNA), a Black nationalist and separatist movement founded in 1968, the flag reflects the organization’s mission to establish an independent Black-majority nation in the southeastern United States. The RNA envisioned this nation comprising several states with significant African American populations, including Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and South Carolina. The flag has been used both as a political symbol and a cultural emblem of Black pride and resistance. While the Republic of New Afrika does not possess official nation-state status, its flag continues to hold historical and ideological significance among supporters of Black self-determination and Pan-Africanism.
