✒️ The flag of Panama consists of a rectangle divided into four quarters: the top left and bottom right are white with a blue five-pointed star and a red five-pointed star respectively, while the top right quarter is red and the bottom left is blue. Officially adopted on 20 December 1903 and designed by María de la Ossa de Amador, the flag symbolizes the political situation of the time, with the blue and red representing the two major political parties—the Conservatives and the Liberals—while the white stands for peace between them. The stars further symbolize purity and honesty (blue) and authority and law (red), reflecting the ideals upon which the Republic of Panama was founded.
