✒️ The flag of Pakistan features a dark green field with a white vertical stripe at the hoist, symbolizing the country's religious minorities, while the green represents the Muslim majority. Centered in the green portion is a white crescent moon and a five-pointed star, both of which are traditional symbols of Islam; the crescent denotes progress, and the star signifies light and knowledge. The flag was designed by Amiruddin Kidwai and was adopted on 11 August 1947, shortly before Pakistan gained independence. The design is based on the flag of the All-India Muslim League and reflects the Islamic foundation of the nation as well as its commitment to inclusion and diversity.
