✒️ The flag of Monaco consists of two equal horizontal bands of red on the top and white on the bottom. These colors are derived from the heraldic shield of the ruling House of Grimaldi and have been associated with the principality since at least the 14th century. The simple bicolor design symbolizes the nation’s sovereignty and historical continuity. Officially adopted on April 4, 1881, the flag is one of the world’s oldest unchanged national flags and closely resembles that of Indonesia, differing only in proportions.
