✒️ The flag of Afghanistan has undergone numerous changes throughout the country's history, reflecting shifts in political regimes and national identity. As of 2021, the internationally recognized flag consisted of three vertical stripes of black, red, and green, with the national emblem in white centered on the red stripe. The emblem typically features a mosque with a mihrab facing Mecca, flanked by two flags, sheaves of wheat, and the Shahada. However, following the Taliban's return to power in August 2021, the group reinstated a plain white flag featuring the black Shahada, symbolizing their Islamic Emirate. This shift has resulted in the coexistence of different flag representations depending on political and international contexts.
