✒️ It is based on the official flag of the Alsace region (nowadays in France but formerly also German). I added the eagle of the Lorraine flag, region in which the Moselle département is located. Alsace and Moselle have a common history (e.g. Alsace-Lorraine during the second German Empire), as well as a great Germanic heritage in culture and language (the spoken languages are Alemannic & Franconian dialects)
