The design replaces the traditional green field with red, a color widely associated with socialism and revolution. The central yellow lozenge is rendered in black, a color often linked with anarchist and syndicalist movements, creating the red-and-black palette symbolic of anarcho-syndicalism. The symbolism of the central emblem is explicit.
